Last weekend, the Invictus Games took place in London. In it’s maiden year, the games are used as a mechanism to unite wounded service men and women in “an international sporting event for wounded, injured and sick Servicemen and women. Teams will come from the armed forces of nations that have served alongside each other. The Games will use the power of sport to inspire recovery, support rehabilitation, and generate a wider understanding and respect of those who serve their country.”
In the wheelchair Rugby event, the New Zealand team performanced a lusty rendition of the Haka ahead of their clash with Great Britain, who went on to win the event, beating the USA in the final.
