After talks with the Scottish Rugby Union(SRU) regarding a possible code-switch to Rugby Union, it has been confirmed that Salford Red Devils and former New Zealand Warriors full back Kevin Locke will remain in Rugby League.
Despite their intentions to contract Locke to a Scottish club, either Glasgow and Edinburgh, and try to fast track his acclimatization to Union in advance of this year’s World Cup, a Scottish Rugby Union spokesman admitted defeat in their courtship of Locke.
”We would like to thank The Salford Red Devils owner and chairman Marwan Koukash for his cooperation in allowing us the opportunity to speak to Kevin Locke, said the SRU spokesman’s statement .
”The Scottish RU has now dropped interest in Locke after after failing to come to any positive decision regarding the possibility of him changing codes, ” furthered the statement.
