One of the highlights of the weekend for any England fan has to be their teams
victory over Wales in Cardiff, a city that has seen England only win one of their
last six matches there.
However, if you are Welsh there is one highlight for you that could maybe bring a
small smile back to your face, and it involves England’s flanker James Haskell.
Haskell himself has been in and out of the national side for a few years now and
his return into the team was almost welcomed with a try between the posts…if
only it hadn’t been for the post protector!
With England 16-15 down and the game in the balance, the Wasps captain
charged through the Welsh defence. With seemingly nothing to stop him, Toby
Faletau and Alex Cuthbert managed somehow to grab hold of the flanker and
send him crashing into the post denying what would have been a great try and
probably leaving Haskell with a fair amount of ribbing in the changing room
afterwards!
At least Haskell has seen the funny side of it saying ‘I knew I wasn’t going to get
there so I tried to hit and bounce back out and I bounced back into the post
unbelievably, but only I could do that’
