French trio Aurelien Rougerie, Julienne Pierre and Benjamin Kayser were last night on the receiving end of a machete attack by a machete and sword wielding gang, according to reports in France.
Pierre and Rougerie sustained deep cuts to their hips and will require surgery, their club, Clermont, however, confirmed that none of their injuries were life threatening.
“A group of players were assaulted by a dozen people carrying weapons including machetes, knives, swords,” read a Clermont statement
“We are deeply shocked and outraged by these acts and will bring all the necessary support to local authorities who have launched a probem’
We at RBP would like to to wish the trio the best of luck in their recovery and hope their attackers are apprehended and made face justice.
