In the game of Rugby, forwards are a key component to any victory, thanks to their grunt, scrummaging, line out skills, tackling and, occasionally, tries.
Generally speaking, their repertoires doesn’t extend to kicking and Auckland’s Steven Luatua obliged us with a live demonstration of this during Auckland and Tasman’s recent ITM Cup meeting.
Totally bereft of the requisite coordination to execute the kick, the All Black’s skewed kick bounced straight into the hands of former Munster hooker Quentin McDonald for what will easily be the softest try of his life.
Let this be a lesson, forwards, stick to what you’re good at.
