According to reports in today’s Manchester’s Evening News, Salford Reds and former New Zealand Warriors full back Kevin Locke will this week meet with the Scottish Rugby Union to discuss a potential code switch.
Mark Dodson, the chief executive of the Scottish Rugby Union, has admitted that the SRU(Scottish Rugby Union) will make a contract offer to try and entice Locke to the fifteen man game but has denied that his organization preemptively approached Locke in an attempt to unsettle the player.
‘‘An opportunity to speak with Kevin to discuss a move to union has merely presented itself,’’.
”We are now following up this opportunity, says Dodson.”
If Locke’s mooted move comes to fruition, the twenty five year old will be assigned a Scottish club before being fast tracked in the Scottish National Team set up.
