It may the unheralded younger brother of the Six Nations, but- as evidenced by Georgia’s flowing 80M try against Germany this past weekend- the Division 1A Euro Nations Cup can produce quality that wouldn’t look out of place in Europe’s Premier International tournament, the Six Nations.
Germany, who gained promotion to 1A this season in place of their relegated neighbours, Belgium, found the transition to their new division difficult; losing 64-8.
Georgia’s try, eventually scored by lock Giorgi Nemsadze, was indicative of the gaping chasm in class between the two sides.
