Wallabies and Brumbies winger Henry Speight has been named in the Aussie Sevens side ahead of their Rio Olympic’s qualifier in Auckland this weekend. Speight only returned a few days ago from the Rugby World Cup where he played in the Wallabies pool match against Uruguay.
Head coach of the Aussie 7’s team Tim Walsh said “We have been preparing for this tournament for a number of months now and obviously Henry hasn’t spent any time with the squad as yet. However, we felt this was an ideal opportunity for him to get used to some of our systems and familiarise himself with the playing group.
“Despite only arriving back from the Rugby World Cup last week, Henry was keen to travel which underlines the passion he has to be part of this squad.”
Speight certainly has some Fijian Sevens skill shown whilst playing with the Brumbies
Lote Tuqiri is a fine example of a player that can switch from 7’s to 15’s with no worries
