The IRPA World Try Of The Year Nominees

Gorge your eyes on this, ladies and gents.

As with every year, the IRPA(International Rugby Players Association) have shortlisted five tries to be voted upon to decide the try of the year.

Rightly, all the tries are different, be they well worked team efforts or touch downs of virtuoso brilliance; and, crucially, both sexes are also covered.

For us here at RBP, the best try gong should go to Francois Hougaard and South Africa for their million miles an hour try in their epic test victory over New Zealand. Given it’s context, late in the game and against possibly the best test side ever, that touch down is a winner in our books.

  1. The speed of the break out off danger the player all knowing they had a support player when they needed. The handling was very good, all lastly the time taken and the distance covered I think is the fastest of the lot.
